Simon Rolfes auf LinkdIn:
On to the next round! After another nerve-wracking evening against Qarabağ FK, we made it to the quarter finals in the UEFA Europa League. Today, our next opponent was drawn and it's West Ham United FC. I am looking forward to playing them. The Hammers have a strong team. They're seventh in the Premier League and played impressively against SC Freiburg. Not to forget that they won the Conference League last season. We met them for our season opener and even though friendly matches are always played with less intensity, we could see their potential.
It will be a difficult challenge, but we felt last season how it is to play Europa League semi-finals and we will give it all to play another one! I'm sure it'll be a special night at home but also in our away game. West Ham have a great atmosphere in their stadium, and our fans will be happy to have a short travel to London - compared to Baku. So, I hope to see many Bayer 04 Leverkusen supporters in England. But first we focus on our next tasks in the Bundesliga and the DFB cup. And take a little breath in the international break.
Stay tuned, Simon
